Where the Kelsey Creek crosses the Plains Road is a great spot to launch a canoe or fishing boat and cast for some fine Trout or Bass. Beautiful Tibbets Falls is just a short distance past this river crossing. Just a couple miles to the south are other access points to more of the Copper Country State Forest and Corporate CFA lands. About one+ miles to the south is 622-Acre, 7-Foot Deep, Vermilac Lake. The Michigan DNR has planted Walleye in this lake for many years, and Master Angler Entries have been pulled from these waters. Locals host a popular ice fishing derby on this lake each year. The Baraga Plains Waterfowl Management Area, Big Lake Campground, and the Baraga Plains ATV Trail are also local area outdoor points of interest.
