Quemado, NM 87829(Catron County)

This ranch boasts essential improvements, including three wells, around 1+ mile of pipeline, a storage tank, drinkers, and well-maintained interior and exterior fencing. Additionally, a natural spring adds to the propertys allure. Mesa Ranch falls within GMU 12, offering a diverse array of wildlife, with Elk and Mule Deer being the prominent inhabitants. While the ranch is not presently enrolled in EPLUS for Elk tags, it is expected to qualify for 1-2 tags (pending confirmation with NM Game and Fish). Mule Deer tags, on the other hand, are available over the counter. Notably, Catron County holds several Boone and Crockett records for both typical and non-typical Elk.

The Quemado Valley, for which the local community is named, was designated the burned valley by Spanish explorers who believed the area had been parched by volcanic eruption. The initial Mass on Texas soil is believed to have taken place in the valley during the Bosque-Larios expedition in 1675.
