Hall Creek WMA is a 647 acre management area that is open to the public for hunting and is walk in only.Hall Creek Barrens Natural Area, located in the Coastal Plain, consists of a mosaic of salt slicks, saline barrens, mound woodlands, pine-hardwood flatwoods, Delta post oak flatwoods, and bottomland hardwood forest communities. Soils at the site, containing naturally high amounts of sodium and magnesium salts, account for the sparse and irregular distribution of trees and the resultant dominance of grasses and other herbaceous vegetation in the barrens and associated woodlands. Stands of dwarf palmetto are distributed irregularly and lend a tropical aspect to the natural area. The unique soils and sparse tree cover over portions of the natural area create ideal habitat for a number of rare herbaceous plant species including the federally threatened species Geocarpon minimum.
