There's great all year round weather here, and it's close to the cities of Wilcox and Benson. This area is famous for it's fertile land located in the shadow of the Dragoon Mountains where the famous Cochise Stronghold once stood. Most of this area is farmland although there are a few cattle ranches. To the west there are great mountain views which are best seen at sunset.
The cultural history of the area is rich, as it has been inhabited for thousands of years by native american populations. Some of the more dramatic and intriguing events, places and characters in the history of the Old West are all nearby, including the Apache wars, Cochise, Geronimo, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and Doc Holiday, and more. There's also the National Historic site of Fort Bowie, which is located across the valley in the foot hills of the Chiracahua range.
NEARBY FEATURES
SUNSITES
Sunsites is an attractive community that lies in the picturesque Sulphur Springs Valley, set against a verdant backdrop of apple, peach, pecan, pistachio orchards and grape vines. Almost anything grows in this favorable climate. Farm produce includes alfalfa, corn, chili peppers, pinto beans, and wheat. Bask in the warm hospitality of a local bed and breakfast to extend your time in this pleasant valley. Just to the west of town, the granite peaks of Cochise Stronghold once refuge of the great Apache chief Cochise holds phenomenal high-desert hiking trails.
WILCOX WINERIES
People often ask, why is this area so good for growing wine grapes and making wine? Three things: Elevation, climate, and soil. Put all together, it means the wines produced in the Wilcox region carry their own unique Arizona signature and stand among the great wines made anywhere in the world. Summer days are warm and nights are cool, and that wide shift in daily temperatures imparts flavor to the grapes. Then the Arizona summer/fall monsoons introduce a unique twist to the growing season. And finally, the soils are generally rich alluvial and volcanic mixtures from the surrounding mountains. Try a glass yourself, you wont be disappointed.
PEARCE
Pearce is home to the now-shuttered Commonwealth Mine, one of the states major silver producers from 1895 to 1942. But dont pass it by this ghost town is home to two properties in the National Register of Historic Places, the Old Pearce General Store (1896) and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church (circa 1916). Several other historic adobe and frame structures some intact, some in ruins including an old cemetery that are scattered throughout town. It just takes a bit of imagination to picture what the town looked like in its heyday.

Research Parcel InformationThe logical access to this property from looking at the map is to take Quinn Street from Hwy 191, and follow it to the property boundaries. However, there is a homestead which interrupts that path, so there is no access via Quinn Street at this time. In the image gallery, I've depicted the route my photographer used to reach the property, however he had to park about 50 yards south and walk in due to existing fencing.
