The Big O Ranch is located in Northeastern Duval Co. 7 miles North of San Diego, 20 miles East of Freer and 15 miles South of HWY 59 and is surrounded by large ranches from 2500 acres to over 8000 acres. The ranch has all the diverse brush species to grow big bucks and include Guajillo, Guayacan, Blackbrush, Granjeno, Whitebrush, Tasajillo, Prickly Pear, Acacia, Lotebrush, Texas Ebony, Mesquite Trees, and a few others. All fencelines, roads, and senderos have been recently cleaned and widened, stock tanks enlarged, and new clearings created. Elevation runs from 364 ft to 450 ft which is 86 ft of elevation change on the ranch!!! Three sides are high fenced and the fourth side is adjoined by a large high fenced ranch with the one common low fence boundry. Due to the water and excellent brush diversity this ranch produces an abundance of native wildlife including white tail deer, Javalina, feral hogs, Bob White and Blue Quail, morning, white wing and white fronted dove, and varmints. There has been very little hunting pressure having only been hunted by family taking management bucks for the last 6 years.Protein and corn feeders run year round and there are 3 Atascotia executive hunting blinds that will remain. Excellent genetics exist and have been improved with local native bucks netted from a helicopter and released immediately on the ranch several years ago. From San Diego take CR 101 North about 7 miles to Ranch on the West side of rd. From George West take HWY 59 South, go past 624 about 5 miles and turn south on CR 101 about 16 miles to Ranch, see double gates where one is a little bent down low.
