Duval County has long been known to have excellent native game hunting. Wildlife common to this area are White-Tailed Deer, Rio Grande Turkey, Javalina, and Feral Hogs. The pond on the property can also attract plenty of birds providing the added benefit of wing-shooting.

Water:

Water is provided by a water well located close to the camp area adjacent to the pond. The pond is supplemented by the well and was recently cleaned up and redug providing excellent water catchment. This pond since it is supplemented by the well could be a great place to stock fish for off season recreation. There is numerous other dry ponds that could be reworked to add even more surface water. Las Animas Creek also meanders through the property creating additional areas ideal for building more ponds.

Habitat:

The native habitat on this ranch provides a mix of areas with heavy cover and areas of lighter cover. This mixture of brush and scattered brush provides the option of raising livestock while enjoying the recreational benefits.
