Crescent Valley is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Eureka County, Nevada, United States, directly off Nevada State Route 306. It is the site of Crescent Valley Elementary School, Crescent Valley Fair Grounds, and Crescent Valley Community Park. The census-designated place of Crescent Valley had a population of 392 as of the 2010 census.
A post office has been in operation at Crescent Valley since 1963.The community takes its name from the valley in which it is located, which in turn was named on account of its crescent shape. Crescent Valley no longer has a U.S. Post Office, the one here was closed after 2008. A small store at the SE corner of 2nd street and Sr306 has one of the only Village Post Offices in the state of Nevada. Postal boxes to receive mail were installed at the Fairgrounds. Mail is delivered from the Post Office in Carlin, NV by auto.
The park in Crescent Valley is a small area consisting of two pavilions, a large area for picnicking complete with barbecues, a bathroom, a baseball field for the Cves youth baseball teams, a playground, a basketball court, and a horseshoe tossing area. The dirt hills and ditches on the outskirts of Crescent Valley are the perfect type of terrain to enjoy some dirt biking, which is the common interest between the younger kids and teens.
The town celebrates all holidays at the fairgrounds, also known as the community center, including "Founder's Day" near the end of June. Founders Day is the celebration of the town itself with games such as horseshoe tossing near the park and pig chasing at the fairgrounds. Other holidays usually are celebrated by special events and dinners at the fairgrounds. Easter is celebrated with an Easter egg hunt and a raffle for prizes at The Ranch House bar and grill on the north side of town. Trick-or-treaters can be found all throughout the town on Halloween, and every year a special "Christmas Carol" Hayride is organized in December.

The climate is typical of the Great Basin: hot and dry with cool mornings in the summer with occasional monsoonal thunderstorms from late July through August; cold and relatively dry in the winter. Temperatures drop to 0 F or -17.8 C or lower on an average 4.7 mornings during the winter, though in the severe winter of 1916/1917 this happened twenty-five times. They drop to 32 F or 0 C on an average 181.3 mornings, though maximum temperatures top freezing on all but 26.3 days during an average winter. During the summer temperatures rise to 90 F or 32.2 C or hotter on 11.8 afternoons, though 100 F or 37.8 C has never been reached with the hottest temperature being 99 F or 37.2 C on July 14, 1955. Snow accumulations vary from 10 to 30 inches (0.25 to 0.76 m) in mild winters to in excess of 80 inches (2.03 m) in more severe years; in the winter of 1906/1907, more than 150 inches or 3.81 meters of snow fell.
The wettest calendar year has been 1941 with 23.86 inches (606.0 mm) and the driest 2008 with 5.64 inches (143.3 mm), whilst May 1917 with 5.73 inches (145.5 mm) has been the wettest single month. The snowiest month has been March 1902 with 54.0 inches or 1.37 meters of fresh snowfall.

About Eureka County
Eureka County was established in 1873 and formed from Lander County after silver was discovered more than 100 miles (160 km) east of Austin. The new mining camp's residents complained Austin was too far to go for county business and a new county was created. It was named for the ancient Greek term, Eureka, meaning, "I have found it."
This term was used earlier in California and other locations. Eureka has always been the county seat.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has an area of 4,180 square miles (10,800 km2), of which 4,176 square miles (10,820 km2) is land and 4.3 square miles (11 km2) (0.1%) is water.
The county's highest point is the 10,631 ft summit of Diamond Peak in the Diamond Mountains along the border with White Pine County.

The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 3.07. The median age was 42.4 years.
The median household income was $61,400 and the median family income was $75,179. Males had a median income of $54,625 versus $42,321 for females. The per capita income for the county was $30,306. About 9.9% of families and 16.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 23.6% of those under age 18 and 13.9% of those age 65 or over.
