North Central Region, FL Land for Sale

The North Central region of Florida spans from the Gulf of Mexico to the borders of the state of Georgia. This is a rural region with small towns and gently rolling hills dominated by magnolia trees. The region also has large expanses of pine tree forests and the climate is quite mild throughout the year but has very distinct winters with temperatures dropping below freezing quite often.

North Central Florida beaches are not generally the white sand swimming beaches seen throughout most of Florida. Most of these beaches are marshy and muddy and not the best place for swimming or walking. These beaches are worth visiting, however. They are part of a unique coastal marsh ecosystem with lots of tidal creeks that are quite and close to nature.

If you are a college football fan then you must visit the cities of Gainesville and Tallahassee which are home to the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles, respectively.

This region is also home to the Apalachicola National Forrest that offers water-based recreation such as boating and fishing along the Ochlocknee River or Apalachicola River, and swimming in the numerous lakes. Trails and roads accommodate hiking, mountain bike riding, horseback riding, and off road ATV and motorcycle riding. Hunting for deer is the dominant activity in December and January.
