Frio Town, TX 78061(Frio County)

The History of the Frio Town Ranch is very interesting with two historic markers that are thought to be campsites of Santa Anna and his Mexican Army along with a Texas historical marker for a Texas Ranger Camp monument for Captain Neal Coldwells Company.

Wildlife:

The Frio Town Ranch is located in an area that is known for its strong south- Texas wildlife habitat. In addition, the ranchs brush diversity, multiple creeks, large elevation changes, and watering stations throughout the ranch contribute to the great wildlife population. Whitetail deer thrive in this environment and can be found on the Frio Town Ranch. This area in Frio County is also known for great dove hunting due partly to the productive farmland in the surrounding areas. Other wildlife that calls the Dos Creek Ranch home are hogs, coyote, a few coveys of quail, and other typical native south Texas wildlife.

Terrain:

The diverse terrain can be seen simply by taking a quick look at a topography map. The elevation changes, hills, creek bottoms, farmland, and flat plains that are all a part of the Frio Town Ranch are very unparalleled. The varied terrain of this ranch also provides a wide variety of vegetation from mesquite, huisache, and white brush to cedar elms and oaks along the creek bottoms.

Water:

This ranch has five Carrizo Irrigation Wells all located within the 830+- acres of farmland. There are two water wells in the front 900 acres, one being a submersible well and the other being a windmill. The back 2,891+/- acres consist of three water wells, five small ponds, and seven rainwater harvesting stations with a storage tank and troughs. (rainwater harvesting stations are not included in the sale, but can be purchased separately.)
