Tarover: Historic Stone Villa on 36 Acres with a Pond

Tarover is a magnificent historic stone villa of some 5500 square feet perfectly situated on a beautiful tract of pasture land near South Boston, Virginia with mature trees, a pond, and fencing all around. It was built in the Gothic Revival style in 1856 and renovated in the 1980s by Virginia Zenke, a respected interior designer from Charleston.

The home is built in irregularly coursed quarried stone. Its elevation is dominated by a two-story porch tower with a gable roof. The first story is an open porch with three large Tudor-style openings, and the second story has a diamond-paned oriel window. It shelters the main entrance of the house, a diamond-paned, transom-light double doorway with complementing sidelights.
