Ridgeline Ranch is just over 3147 acres of mountainous terrain and outstanding big game habitat in Southern, CO. The countless canyons and ravines are excellent bedding areas for mule deer, elk, and bear. Don't short-change the turkey hunting though! The majority of the ranch is covered in ponderosa, pinyon, cedars and scrub oak with a few areas that could be planted to bring in more wildlife. Due to the varying topography of the landscape, you could easily enhance the property by creating additional water sources. There is a 2-bedroom/1 bath hunting cabin that has year-round access and is ideally located 15 minutes north of Trinidad, CO

There is an immense amount of water on the ranch in an otherwise extremely dry climate. With a small stream running down the main canyon, over 30 dirt tanks, and one solar-operated well you'll have enough water sources spread around the ranch to attract and hold big game year round!
There are good populations of elk, mule deer, and turkey on the ranch as well as huge black bear, mountain lion, and other small game in the area. The property qualifies for mule deer landowner vouchers and most elk tags can be purchased over the counter. As an added bonus Ridgeline Ranch has great road systems making accessing your favorite hunting spots via ATV simple. Additionally, the terrain is relatively mild making this a great recreational sporting property for people of all ages!
The ranch has excellent big game bedding areas which is critical for big game to reach maturity. With roughly 85% of the ranch being covered in ponderosa, pinyon, cedars, and scrub oak there are plenty of hiding places for those old mature bucks and bulls to hide! While photographing the ranch I noticed numerous elk, deer, and turkey tracks in the ranch roads and around the water sources. Check back soon for updated trail camera pictures! Great fossil hunting too!

The property has year-round access and is surrounded by large ranches, new roads, and perimeter fencing. The land is near several small and large cities in all directions. The closest city is Trinidad, Colorado, and is located roughly 40 minutes to the west. Trinidad has all the conveniences one would expect in a small town: shopping, restaurants, hotels, and even a small private airport. Raton, New Mexico, similar in size, also sits within 1-hour southwest, and a little further to the southeast is the quaint town of Dalhart, Texas.
Other outdoor and recreational activities include Trinidad Lake State Park, within an hour's drive, which houses an 800-acre reservoir just west of Trinidad. It allows fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and hiking.
Not only is Ridgeline Ranch a hunter's dream sporting property, but it is also truly a solid investment with Colorado's booming front-range population and an influx of Texas and Oklahoma buyers.
