Native Americans also view the bear as a guardian and protector. Though time has worn down Bear Effigy, his spirit still stands guard over Oval Mound, which measures 8 feet by 11 feet, rising 1 feet in height. A Linear Rock Formation, set back further to the propertys edge, makes its own cultural statement through carefully stacked stone of various colors, shapes and types of rock.
