Excellent Hunting Parcel Surrounded By Private Landowners In Central MI
Beautiful timber parcel with almost all oak trees surrounded by private farm ground several that are corn and beans. The owner has taken the time and expense of establishing food plots and great tree stand locations. The deer bed and fawn on this parcel as well as consume the acorns here that are plentiful.in addition to hitting the internal food plots the deer travel to and from the surrounding crop fields allowing the hunter to set ambush points on the travel corridors. The owner has been careful to take older bucks for about 6-7 yrs. Allowing the herd to age and try to reach their genetic potential. He has also taken a limited number of does therefore allowing the deer number to increase as well. There are several potential camping and building sites on the property and I am told there is power available at the road. The property had a heavy canopy cutting out the sunlight and not permitting much undergrowth until the owner had the softwood, primarily the ash and some pine selectively cut about 4 yrs. ago. This has improved the undergrowth significantly and has made great bedding areas with plenty of browse available. Those bedding areas hold the does and during the rut the bucks cruise this parcel non-stop looking for them. The deer numbers are high in this area as the public hunting areas push those deer onto these private farms and timber lots. The turkeys call this parcel home as well with hens raising their poults here and several roost trees on the perimeter. There is also a pond on the property with panfish that provides an excellent source of fresh water to the deer herd. To see everything this parcel has to offer a tour is really needed call me and we can climb in my UTV and hit the trail and see it up close.
