Holbrook has all the high quality facilities you could ask for. There are 3 community parks, a public library, museum, recreation center, swimming pool, 8 tennis courts, 8 racquetball courts, 6 softball fields, community centers, a golf course, bowling alley, shooting range, and the county fairgrounds. There is an array of medical care facilities, schools, grocery stores, banks, restaurants, etc., as you would expect in a county seat. It is the economic hub for northeastern Arizona.

The region has excellent air quality with very low humidity and averages 320 sunny days per year. 5,400 feet elevation makes for excellent weather temperatures the year round. Only 18% of county land falls under individual and corporate ownership. The rest is owned by Native American Reservations, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau Of Land Management, and the state of Arizona.
