RUNNING CREEK FARM - Lusk, Niobrara County, Wyoming: The Running Creek Farm is located six miles northeast of Lusk, Wyoming, and is presently operated as a farm and cattle background operation. This easily-accessible, contiguous ranch consists of approximately 648 irrigated acres and 712 acres of native grass pastures for a total of 1,360 acres. Four Zimmatic low-pressure center pivots irrigate the 648 acres with two west pivots currently planted into alfalfa and the two east pivots planted to oats. Historically, three cuttings of hay are harvested off the pivots with the total annual yield averaging 3,200 tons of hay. The irrigation wells for the pivots produce between 850 to 1000 GPM with pumps set at approximately 200 feet and static water levels ranging between 80 and 130 feet.
