Out of the 5 building sites, 3 are close enough to the power pole at the neighbors to ask for an extension. The other two are for the more adventurous! Rising up about 250 in elevation puts you right at the quarry which is an open area of about 1.5 acres. A perfect building site with the greatest views across the Unadilla River Valley. As seen in the photos there are flat stone overburden piles that can be used creatively. Farther up, the more rock outcroppings you find, you just cant stop exploring. About every 100 yards up there is a level relief resting zone with more things to see. You will climb nearly 500 in elevation before reaching the top and have traveled a half mile in distance. But the most impressive thing about these 85 acres is elbow room. Once at the top, you have almost 3/10 of a mile in width of the property to use. Do you travel North and see the large flatter area of the forest? Or do you head South where the hillside is steeper and who knows what you will find? Either way, you will find mature trees, young saplings, hardwood and nut trees, all providing for a great canopied forest! So where is the 5th building site? Anywhere There are switchback trails and old logging roads. One takes you straight to the top but along the way there are those exploratory shelf-like plateaus every one hundred yards or so. When you have finally made your choice, the groundwork has already been done and with a little thought, excavating and planning it will be truly amazing.
