Shoshone River Wildlife Retreat
Situated in the heart of Northern Wyomings Big Horn Basin is the Shoshone River Wildlife Retreat. The ranch is located just 3.5 miles from Powell and 24 miles north of Cody, Wyoming. Comprised of 135 deeded acres, this ranch offers abundant wildlife, fishing, and scenery. The acreage is diverse, ranging from lush irrigated hay fields, to rangeland pastures, to the riparian corridor and wetlands. This combination provides exceptional habitat for a variety of wildlife including whitetail and mule deer, fox, coyote, muskrat, turkey, ducks, pheasants, geese, sand hill cranes, hawks, owls and eagles. Well known for its quality trout fishing there is approximately 1/3 of a mile frontage on the Shoshone River. In addition to the river, there are three ponds with aerators ready to be stocked with trout. These ponds also provide additional waterfowl habitat.
