McAlester, Oklahoma is about seven miles from the ranch and offers the McAlester Expo Center which hosts activities and events throughout the year such as the Italian Festival, car shows, basketball tournaments, concerts, trade shows, the Pittsburg County Fair and Livestock Show, 4 th of July Fireworks Show, and many other events. McAlester also has a hospital, cancer treatment center, many urgent care facilities and medical professionals. In addition to veterinarians, feed stores, lumber yards, shopping, antique stores and a variety of restaurants, a movie theater, skating rink and bowling alley with gaming center.
