Several other veteran prospectors have claims already established around this area, and now that we have located ours, there are no other areas to locate a claim that has a creek on it.

The government mineral withdrawal is also a way of protecting those 160 acres along Boulder Creek from any large, mining operation from coming in and disturbing the land to any large degree. The public is allowed on that 160 acres, but no prospecting can ever take place,

being our claims here have exclusive prospecting rights.

These claims are at the base of Diamond Mountain, well known as a gold bearing mountain, where Winter snow runoff runs down into the valley, including into Boulder Creek.

This is a 80 acre unpatented, gold mining placer claim, the Boulder Creek Gold #2 and #3, with the beautiful Boulder Creek running through the claims, and is in Plumas County, California, in the beautiful Diamond Mountain Range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Plumas National Forest. The claims are legally registered with the Bureau of Land Management out of Sacramento and Plumas County. You own the mineral rights, not sharing with others, on the 80 acres, and use your 80 acres, recreationally for camping: tent, camper, or RV, and prospecting: an awesome, beautiful area.

With an approved BLM Plan of Operation, a building can be built on the land: any building that benefits and improves the claim.

As stated by the BLM, this can be the "construction of a building, road, fence, or enclosure necessary for mining."

Current usage, is what the BLM calls, Casual Use: panning, shovel, rock hammer, metal detector, creek powered sluice box, where no permission nor permit is needed to camp and prospect.

On visits to the claim, we gathered in and around the creek, approx. 1/8 of an ounce of gold on each claim, being worth about $215 for each, from our study and exploration of this area for 2 years. As the BLM does not specify the amount of gold to be found to locate a claim other than gold needs to be discovered, we use this amount for a 40 acre claim as a projection of good gold potential. Someone with more time may find more. Gold prices are over $1200/ounce. Though we could never guarantee what you will find, we did locate this claim in an historically rich area for gold prospecting.

This claims have good legal road access, on a good, dirt forest service road for any type if vehicle, with areas for camping, and gold discovered in surface prospecting. Boulder Creek runs thru the whole claim.

A transfer of ownership is a sale of legal, exclusive ownership of a mining claim site. To be a legally recorded claim, gold had to be found on the claim, which was completed by us, as we are original claim locators.

Your ownership is legally conveyed via 2 Quit Claim deeds per claim, and legally recorded with the BLM and Plumas County. A Quit Claim deed is the required legal document per the BLM. Each year, on or before September 1st, you need to file a simple form with the Bureau of Land Management, along with $310 for each claim. By doing this, you keep the claims forever. 2 names needed on your deed for each claim. You must be a current US citizen with a US address to own a mining claim in the US. $330 fees for this year are paic, not due again until September 1, 2021.

Plumas County taxes = $44/year per claim due next Summer.

GPS at the intersection of Gold Run road and 29N43 is 40.341193, -120.714526, then about 10.5 miles to the claim, going east then SE.

Is about 3.5 miles from beginning of Richmond Road to Gold Run Road, and about 5 miles from Gold Run Road to FS Road 29N43.

Boulder Creek running through the claims is a unique advantage for gold prospecting.

Gold always occurs in gravels in the metallic state and when so found has various physical characteristics. Gold is dense and heavy, it has a characteristic metallic color, and it is soft and easily malleable (it is easily formed by hammering). These are the characteristics used by prospectors to identify gold in the field.

Placer gold occurs on the claim as small grains derived from gossan formed by weathering, and oxidation of the gold, copper and iron rich veins. Gold also occurs as grains flakes and small nuggets derived from the erosion of mineralized fault zones on, and upstream from the claim.
