This is a beautiful area near Conchas Lake, between Tucumcari and Las Vegas, New Mexico. It is mostly unspoiled ranchland, scenic and peaceful. The lake is a fishing paradise with large mouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, walleye, and crappie. Boating and water skiing are very popular. The lake is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Experienced divers enjoy exploring the underwater cliffs. Near the lake are a 9-hole golf course, camping facilities, and a picnic area. Conchas Lake State Park offers a lot of fun outdoor activities. The North Dock Cafe has an excellent view of the lake.
