Rancho Monte Alegre - Lot 17

Enter Lot 17 by crossing over the Santa Monica Creek by way of a significant entryway bridge (mentioned earlier), an engineering highlight in and of itself. Lot 17 is one of two remaining crown jewels on the ranch and features gorgeous ocean and mountain views, a large building envelope, building areas for a barn and guesthouse, additional buildings and includes utilities, municipal water plus ability to have a private well.

Interesting Historical Fact: Lot 17 also features 268 mature olive trees. These trees were originally planted by Charles Victor Hall, who bought the ranch in 1878 when it was referred to as Box Canyon Ranch. Initially, he planted three thousand trees from southern France and planned to market the olives for oil, which he later decided wasnt lucrative enough. This preceded the famous olive mill of Montecito (the one on Olive Mill Rd) by nearly a dozen years.
