Welcome to the pastoral High View Farm! Situated on nearly 20 acres surrounded by mountains and partially bordered by Ashokan watershed protected land. Come and discover TWO spacious farmhouses sited above a large freshwater pond and second natural swimming pond. Completing this idyllic location is a secure studio overlooking the expanse of water to the tree covered hillside. Across the peaceful country road are three antique barns, ripe for creative uses and a rare discovery in Ulster county. The property has a rich and storied past, beginning as summer lodging for New Yorkers a hundred or more years back visiting the country while the farm continued its farming operations- all to the delight of these city-folk. Many generations of the Bostock family loved the land and originally enjoyed clear views all the way down to the Ashokan reservoir - trees do keep growing and have obscured the view. The Bostock's, and now Anderson family, have resided here continually until recently even though the farming operations ended. The original house with 1,900 square feet was built in 1825 and has four bedrooms and one and a half baths. The large, bright and open kitchen and dining area flows into a relaxing sun-room with custom bluestone flooring. This special room beckons one to sit for hours viewing the two ponds, birds, and big sky. A half bath is accessed off the kitchen. The living room with beautiful hardwood flooring has plenty of space to unwind with friends and loved ones, from one end of the room a view of the three barns and the other overlooking the ever beautiful ponds and hillside. Upstairs are four bedrooms with cedar closets and a full bathroom with jacuzzi tub off the hallway. Follow the breezeway that overlooks the pond to the 1875 farmhouse or guest house with 2,240 square feet. This house was carefully re-located during the construction of the Ashokan reservoir in the early 1900's to its current location. The first floor features a large living room with grand custom stone fireplace, cozy kitchen, and large ground floor bedroom and full bathroom original hardwood flooring throughout. The second floor is literally a time capsule. Step back in time and experience its lodging roots as you climb the stairs. Here there are six rooms and an old bathroom, not functioning and ripe for renovation. Sited across the way, and accessed from a long bluestone walkway are the three barns. Let your imagination run free while exploring each one! The party barn on the far left has space for one car just beyond the sliding door and a large space to entertain, create - so many uses on the right. The workshop in the middle could be converted into a great hangout space. Finally, the horse barn on the right is complete with three stalls, an old chicken coop, and a large feed bin. All three structures have electric. Located just minutes from Woodstock and all the region has to offer year-round, bring your vision to 368 Bostock and make it your next home!
