The front 70 acres of improved coastal Bermuda are irrigated with portable rain bird sprinklers with 1,200 ft. of hose on a portable reel. The sprinklers cover 300 ft. per pass at 400 gallons per minute provided by a water well. The remaining open acreage is partially improved and unimproved pastures. WATER & UTILITIES

Three water wells produce quality water and are powered by solar, electricity, and diesel generator backup. The pasture irrigation well is powered with an 85 HP John Deer diesel motor with a 3,000-gallon fuel tank. The two house wells are tied into a solar-powered water system with electric grid backup. One well is 450 ft. deep with the pump set at 320 ft., and tests at 600 gallons per minute. These wells pump into a 6,000-gallon storage tank, and overflow goes to a nearby stock pond. The tank feeds into the pressure system which supplies water to both houses and the entire shop area. The third well is tied to the grid to be used for backup. The entire system runs trouble-free and operates efficiently with virtually no maintenance.

There is a half-acre pond in the front pasture. A stock pond near the home is fed by overflow from the water storage tank. Two smaller ponds are found in the back wooded acreage.
