Internal access to the property is excellent and is made off the forest road mentioned above. Almost all the ridgelines on the property have trails that can be travelled by a side by side (pics 19-24). Some of them are even good enough for two-wheel drive passenger vehicles to operate on since they have a solid limestone bed used when previous timber harvests have been made. Once you get to the top of the main ridge on the property, you will find multiple flat building sites that will give views in multiple directions, some in excess of 10 miles (pics 25-27). Once you build your cabin up here you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets from your very own base camp.
The property does have some timber ready for harvest, but a value has not been determined. Species of timber include white oak, chestnut oak, hard and soft maple, hickory and poplar (pic 28-33). There is even a stand of pine that is nearing maturity (pics 34 & 35).
Game is plentiful and includes deer, turkey, black bear, bobcat and various small game species (pics 36-40). As I was taking photos for this listing, I discovered several berry patches on the property. I found the traditional blackberry and black raspberry (pics 41 & 42), but I also found golden raspberries (pics 43 & 44). This was a first for me. I really enjoyed the impromptu taste testing. They were yummy! I also found some wine berries that will be ripe later this summer (pic 45). Theres no telling what you will be able to find as you explore your new get-a-way.
Taxes are minimal for such a large piece of land and this property will qualify for managed timber tax consideration. There are 9 tax parcels, and they include parcel 18-7 in Reedy District, Wirt County, and parcels 6-45, 9-2, 9-3, 9-10, 9-12, 9-19, 10-10, and 10-11 in Spring Creek District of Wirt County. There are no mineral rights with the property as those were severed from the surface many years ago. The pipeline that runs through the property is serviced from the forest road coming off of RT 14 and the gas company does a great job of maintaining it.
