Do stop by the famous, The Collettsville Cup House, a wood frame cabin covered, as its name suggests, top-to-bottom in coffee mugs sits practically on the banks of the Johns River north of Collettsville just 12 minutes away from the property. Owner estimates more than 25,000 mugs cover two buildings and fencing around the property. Visitors are welcome to visit year-round and there is a visitors sign-in sheet on the front porch. Peek through the windows and the entire inside of the building is also covered in coffee mugs. If you can find an empty nail, you can leave a coffee mug, too.
For breathtaking views, look no further than the Brown Mountains Overlook 16 miles (23 min drive) away. Brown Mountain Overlook sits at an elevation of 2,844 ft (866 m). This overlook is long, with views from south to north. Looking south from the left you will see the points of Trayfoot Mountain and Rockytop in the distance, with Big Run in the valley below. Rocky Mountain is the closest mountain to the view and stretches in front of the overlook. Looking north you will see Two Mile Ridge from the left, with Rocky Mount to the right. The Shenandoah Valley is visible toward the horizon looking north.
The Little Wilson Creek Falls are described as, many small waterfalls, water slides, and bathtubs by Allen T. Hyde. The falls are about 46 min drive away from the property but well worth the site as it was rated 5 stars to hikers. It has been reported that the falls are well off the beaten path and its a great place to stop, relax and have a picnic.
Duggers Creek Falls is a small 10-foot waterfall tucked away in a beautiful cove a short walk from the Linville Falls Visitor Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just 26.9 miles away, experience the short 3/10 mile trail to the creek. Along the way, enjoy lush foliage, wildflowers and mushrooms. At the end you will be rewarded with a great view of the cascading creek from the road bridge as well.
