This beautiful 1032-acre ranch has one mile of frontage on Hwy 256 less than two miles east of Memphis. Jonah Creek, which is a wet-weather stream that often has pools of water and is lined with many large trees, runs through the west side of the ranch for approximately two miles. A large pond dug beside Jonah Creek on the property just west of this ranch is reported to stay full with water that seeps into it. A number of canyons empty into Jonah Creek from both its east and west sides. This very scenic creek bottom with its many large trees is quite unique for this area.

There are a number of old fields that have been allowed to return to grass scattered throughout the ranch. These provide additional grazing as well as excellent wildlife habitat. A large canyon on the east side of the ranch is dammed and, according to the previous owner, held water for many years (old maps show a lake with about six surface acres) until quickly going dry. It is likely that a crevice or sink hole developed beneath the lake which could possibly be made to hold again by the use of bentonite or other sealer.
In addition to the creek, cattle are watered with two submersible electric motors and pumps, one of which is solar powered and the other is connected to electric service. There is a good barbed wire fence with steel posts on the north and most of the west side of the ranch. The rest of the fencing is older barbed wire with a mixture of cedar and steel posts. Except for a shed used by hunters, there are no other improvements on the ranch.
This ranch offers excellent hunting for whitetail and mule deer, turkey, bobwhite quail and dove. The ranch's topography makes it seem much larger that it is and allows multiple hunters to be isolated from each other. The hunting is leased on an annual basis starting September 1st each year. The grazing is currently leased until fall.
This ranch is a choice hunting property in a prime location with beautiful scenery and the potential to develop large lakes and ponds! It is also a great place for hiking or trail rides.
