The lake offers excellent fishing and waterfowl hunting opportunities. White-tailed deer, hogs, and other native species are frequent in this area. Some antler restrictions do apply in Kaufman County.

The 21-acre quarry lake is rare due to its unique blue color, shape, and 30 depth. The Limestone rock in the lake is responsible for the blue coloration.
