In days of long ago, homesteads were self- sustaining and the center of family life. Neighbors gathered to share food, and catch up on the days happenings. To enter this sanctuary, a mile drive down a private driveway with 52 perfectly placed pear trees is your welcoming gift. On this drive are only two homes that share the driveway, and its maintenance and do so with a friendly handshake as well as recorded right- of- way.

At the far end of this driveway and as you turn left, a beautiful sight awaits you beginning with the first glance of a lovely new barn, and fencing, a strategically placed farm house with inviting front porch and wide wrap-a-round porches on other three sides. At the same time you notice the wealth of trees of all varieties and in seemingly a planned design.
It is easy to feel lazy at this homestead. The sounds of the ducklings, chicks, rabbits and the sight of the horses, cats and goats all meandering around their home is just soothing to the soul. The tree canopy near the barn is the location for the rabbit and chicken/duck houses and is a center of activity. The tree-house with its own zip line overlooks this critter corner.
The home itself can hold beautifully a family with several children, or a combined family of generations.
The new addition can be utilized as family space with a guest suite on upper level, or as a teen hide-a-way or in-law apartment. The current homeowners had their parents living with them in their own quarters, and now they are all moving to Florida for a new employment opportunity. They hate to go.
The home itself has its own private spots. An example would be off the dining room where a screened porch opens to an ornamental garden that reminds me of a meditation area. Not large, but cozy and peaceful. Another get-a-way area is on the upper level of the main house where a perfect study or reading nook is tucked away.
The wrap-a-round porches all have room for comfy furniture, and are large enough for you to sit on one porch and not even realize that the nearby porch is occupied. The sounds of the birds, crickets and frogs are many times the only reminders that you are not alone. It is simply charming. Come see for yourself!
